Information

Picturesquely nestled between the wooded hills of the Spessart and Odenwald regions, Miltenberg, Bürgstadt, and Kleinheubach lie like pearls on the blue ribbon of the Main River. The heart of the medieval half-timbered town of Miltenberg is its four-hectare town park – a hillside gem that invites locals and visitors alike to explore.

The park's history began shortly before the turn of the 20th century when Privy Councillor Gustav Jakob acquired the former fruit-growing area. He not only had his magnificent sandstone villa built there but also commissioned the horticultural director Engelbert Sturm to design an English-style landscape park. Conceived as an arboretum, the park now houses an impressive collection of around 150 native and exotic tree species.

Among the giant trees are specimens over 100 years old, such as false cypresses, red oaks, and the rare wingnut.

This botanical treasure trove has been lovingly tended since 1983. Since 2022, the park has offered a special highlight for families: an almost 200-meter-long wooden ball track where beechwood balls whiz through intricately carved stations.

Those wishing to explore the region further will find additional worthwhile destinations among the "Three on the Main" in the newly designed park of Löwenstein Castle in Kleinheubach or on the geo-trails in Bürgstadt.
