Code of Conduct

Our Code of Conduct sets out the values and rules that are important to us. These principles are based on our democratic constitution and guide our work both internally and externally. They are designed to help ensure that everyone feels comfortable. To this end, we formulate goals that we strive to achieve in our daily activities. At the same time, we set boundaries that we will not tolerate being crossed.
This Code of Conduct is brought to life by the people who support it. We review it regularly and develop it further to ensure that it meets the requirements of a dynamic and diverse society.

Respect and appreciation: We promote respectful, open, and constructive cooperation in which all people feel comfortable regardless of their origin, identity, or abilities.

Appreciative communication: We do not tolerate hurtful, discriminatory, or derogatory language.

Openness and respect: We respect the opinions and perspectives of others, even if they differ from our own. No one should be disadvantaged for expressing constructive criticism or concerns.

We do not tolerate discrimination: Whether based on origin, gender, sexual orientation, identity, religion, worldview, physical or mental abilities, or social background.

We respect different cultures: Cultural expressions deserve respect and appreciation. We avoid practices such as adopting traditions, symbols, or rituals without context or consent. Instead, we promote respectful dialogue that recognizes the origin and meaning of such cultural elements.

Diversity and inclusion: We promote diversity and consciously incorporate different perspectives and encourage open exchange.

Accessibility: We design our projects and events to be as accessible as possible. We are grateful for any suggestions on how to improve usability.

Creativity and innovation: We see creativity and confidence as the keys to positive social change. For us, creative thinking and action are the driving force behind our daily work. We showcase the diversity of spaces that invite participation and can be experienced in a lively, uncomplicated, and collaborative way.

Promotion of creative ideas and institutions: We promote a creative environment in which ideas and institutions are welcome, regardless of hierarchy or function.

Positive narrative: We tell an optimistic cultural history of the metropolitan region. Our work aims to capture feasible and realistic visions of the future of the cultural landscape and thus also to make it visible as a diverse network that inspires and motivates.

Visionary attitude: Our work is curious, empathetic, and visionary. We act constructively, motivatingly, and in a way that is universally understandable in order to inspire and empower. Courage and drive are the foundation of our work—we inspire and motivate.
Creativity and willingness to compromise: Creativity in our joint actions is based on mutual respect and a willingness to compromise. We do not see creativity as an end in itself, but as a means of strengthening democratic principles and promoting cooperative action.

Consequences of non-compliance
The Code of Conduct provides guidance and sets standards. In the event of non-compliance, we rely on dialogue, reflection, and, if necessary, consequences.
In the event of non-compliance with the Code of Conduct, we reserve the right to take consequences, such as personal discussions or mediation.
However, serious violations can also result in concrete consequences, up to and including exclusion from projects/institutions.
All users are encouraged to report incidents or concerns confidentially.
We reserve the right to terminate cooperation with partners who grossly violate our values.
