Park Falkenstein Grand
Daily from 8 am until nightfall
High below the Falkenstein castle ruins lies a park of exceptional quality. Originally conceived in 1876 by the Frankfurt landscape architect Franz Heinrich Siesmayer as a sprawling landscape park, the grounds experienced an imperial renaissance in 1906: Wilhelm II acquired the property as a retreat for officers. Siesmayer's sons, Philipp and Ferdinand, adapted the park to the prevailing taste of 1900 and added architecturally structured sections.
Today, the grounds of the 5-star Falkenstein Grand Hotel, a listed historical monument, combine Baroque austerity with romantic expansiveness. The centerpiece is the terraced southern promenade with its reflecting pools and rock faces. Thanks to meticulous restorations, guests can once again enjoy the picturesque vistas that captivated visitors over 100 years ago: views of Falkenstein and Kronberg castles, as well as the impressive panorama of the Frankfurt skyline.
