Staatspark Fürstenlager
around the clock
The Fürstenlager in Bensheim-Auerbach, dating from the late 18th century, was the rural summer residence of the House of Hesse-Darmstadt. Today, this idyllic village with its old spa fountain in the middle of a landscape park is open to all walkers and captivates visitors with its peace and quiet. The Fürstenlager is a place for active relaxation. The world seems to become quieter and time seems to pass more slowly when you enter the Hessian State Park near Bensheim-Auerbach: at the bottom of a valley basin lies a pretty ensemble of buildings surrounded by steep forests, meadows, and vineyards. Nestled in the natural topography of the Odenwald at the transition to the Upper Rhine Plain, it can only be described as idyllic. This is how the princes and princesses who once found themselves able to escape the constraints of court life must have felt.
